FAQ
How many dogs are on each tour?
We tour with between 6 and 8 dogs.
I have 2 dogs - can I bring both?
We prefer you bring a non-dog owning friend but if you can't, we charge a 20% premium for an extra dog.
How many hikes are there each day?
A minimum of two tour stops each day with at least one hike at every stop.
How long are the hikes?
Most hikes are between one and three miles roundtrip.
Do I have to make every hike?
No. At most destinations there are options for easy hikes and challenging hikes so sometimes we will break up into smaller hike packs. You can even choose to take your dog on a solo hike.
How long does my dog have to stay in the van during the trip?
Destinations have been selected so that the longest travel stretch is two hours. If it takes longer than that, we will pull over for a leg stretcher.
Will the dogs get along?
Folks with unsociable dogs won't be looking to join our tours; in our experience the dogs bond quickly on the trail.
Will my dog ever be left alone?
We only go to dog-friendly parks and if we stop for human interests, it will be briefly and someone will remain in the van with the dogs.
What do I need to bring?
We supply a complete list of things you should bring; things you may want to bring and things you must bring (rabies vaccination proof, leash, etc.)Take the Trail Back Home / Our Tours /Learn About The Canine Hikers Bible / Learn About A Bark On The Beach
