Dog lovers vacationing on Florida’s Suncoast will want to stitch directions to Bonita Beach into their dog’s collar (Take I-75 to Exit 116 (Bonita Beach Rd W) stay on Bonita Beach Rd. to Hickory Blvd. North to Estero Blvd. - pass the Bonita Springs water tower - to over next bridge on left. From Ft Myers Beach - take Estero Blvd south to pass Lovers Key State Park - Dog Beach on west side of road.). A short walk through the trees leads to a long beach and shallow, gentle water on the Gulf of Mexico - and it is just for dogs. Even the most reticent dog will take to the giant salt water canine swimming pool where she can wade out a quarter-mile and only get her tummy wet.
