Mostly we try to guide dog lovers to tail-friendly parks and trails but every so often it may be necessary to warn of places NOT TO TAKE YOUR DOG.
Ever had a bad experience in a place with your dog?

GREELEY, COLORADO

Hi there,

I really like your website!  However, I was wondering along with the recommendations of where to take your dog, you could include places where NOT to take your dog?  For example, we just moved to Greeley from Colorado Springs, CO.  with our two golden retrievers, Lucky and Dakota.  When we lived in Colorado Springs there were lots of great places to take our dogs off-leash, however, now that we've lived in Greeley for a few months we've discovered that this is the most dog UNFRIENDLY place in America!  Dogs are not allowed anywhere here, not even in the local parks and on trails, and there is only one dog park that leaves a LOT to be desired!

I wish there was a "warning" website for dog lovers like me --we would have thought twice before moving to Greeley had we known the laws against dogs were so strict here.

Anyway, I have earmarked your site for future reference and have found it very helpful.  I just wish I didn't have to drive 40 minutes just to walk my dogs! : (

Thanks,
Rose

LAVAL, QUEBEC

Sorry, but Quebec is the worst place in North America to hike with his dog.
The Minister responsible for the parks and reserve is Thomas J. Mulcair ( www.ministre@menv.gouv.qc.ca
Please write to him.
For the last 2 years I have been trying to move things, I will be selling my tent trailer and go fishing or hunting or hiking elsewhere.
Salutatios,
Richard

LUDINGTON STATE PARK, MICHIGAN

I actually got a ticket ($80.00) for taking my dog to the beach at Ludington State Park on Lake Michigan. I was along the road, nowhere near any controlled beaches. "But" I take my dogs all the time to Muskeygon State Park. The unoffical "dog" beach is on the south side of the park along the road. You have to climb over the guard rail and climb over rocks to get to the beach, but there are always people there with dogs.
