I often get the question, "What
is the most important thing to bring on a hike with your dog?"
the answer is always: water. Of course, that goes double in the
heat of summer. But you don't have to give your dog a free ride.
Look into Dog Hyrdation Packs for your dog to wear and carry
her own water. Hydration packs come in different sizes and you
can find them on sale for less than $15. But, remember, water
is the heaviest item you carry on a hike so break your dog in
easy and it will soon be no more intrusive than a collar.
